Sign worker policies & procedures

Rules for sign wavers on assignment. Follow these on every shift to stay safe, professional, and eligible for payment.

Last updated: July 23, 2026

These policies apply to all sign wavers on OnPost assignments. Follow them on every shift to stay safe, professional, and eligible for payment.

  • 1. Never leave your sign unattended. Liquidators or city ordinance enforcement may take your sign away if it is left on display without you.
  • 2. Keep breaks to 15 minutes. Breaks must not exceed 15 minutes.
  • 3. Do not enter advertised stores on breaks. You are hired independently by sign promotions, not the store. On breaks you may leave your sign safely with your coworker or in your car. Do not drive away with the sign.
  • 4. Stagger breaks with your coworker. Never take a break at the same time as your coworker. One person must always be displaying a sign.
  • 5. No breaks at the start or end of the day. Breaks cannot be taken at the beginning or end of the day to shorten the shift.
  • 6. Stand and hold your sign — no chairs. We stand and hold our signs. This is a safety requirement.
  • 7. No end-of-day breaks. We do not take breaks at the end of the day. The time sheet must show the full shift (typically five hours).
  • 8. Professional dress — no sagging. Do not wear pants below the waist.
  • 9. Respect store employees. Always be respectful to all store employees, even if they are not. Report any issues with store employees to us. Be kind — they are losing their jobs.
  • 10. Shirts on; comfortable shoes. Please keep shirts on, even in the heat. Comfortable shoes are strongly recommended.
  • 11. Your shift is your responsibility. If you cannot make a shift, find someone to replace you — they will need to register. If we must find a replacement on your behalf, that person may be offered the position going forward, not only for one day.
